Winehouse and Doherty duet
Babyshambles and Amy Winehouse have collaborated on a new song, according to reports. Pete Doherty and his band apparently recorded the track in Wiltshire recently, after the former Libertine was released from rehab. Entitled "1939 Returning", Winehouse sings and plays acoustic guitar on the "ska type track", which is rumoured to be getting an online release later this month.
Babyshambles' guitarist Mik Whitnall told the NME they had been very impressed with the musicianship of the neo-soul diva. "She plays better than James Brown playing acoustic guitar. She thinks she's sh*t but she's not. I've never met a girl who plays like that, let alone a man."
